Bergen County Drug Possession SuspectPalisades Interstate Parkway police officers recently arrested a drug offense suspect who was allegedly threatening to jump off a cliff located in the area of the George Washington Bridge (GWB).

The suspect is a 22-year-old man who lives in the Bronx, New York. According to authorities, the suspect resisted arrest by Palisades Interstate Parkway officers and ran to a cliff on the side of River Road.

The suspect reportedly climbed down the side of the cliff and threatened to jump. Port Authority police officers were called to the scene to assist Palisades Interstate Parkway cops. After negotiating for 20 minutes, the suspect agreed to surrender to police. The officers then used a harness to bring the suspect to the top of the cliff.

The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including conspiracy to distribute cocaine, conspiracy to distribute ecstasy, and resisting arrest.

Moreover, law enforcement officials indicated that the suspect is going to face armed robbery charges in NYC.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey.
