Hackensack NJ Sexual Assault SuspectLaw enforcement recently arrested a Hackensack NJ man who has been accused of sexually assaulting a young girl in Maywood, New Jersey.

According to Bergen County prosecutors, the 32-year-old suspect sexually assaulted the victim several years ago. The victim was 12 years old at the time of the alleged sexual assault.

The girl, who is now 17 years old, recently reported the sex crime. She informed New Jersey child welfare officials about the sexual misconduct. Once agency officials heard her story, they contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and alerted prosecutors to allegations. Agency officials also notified the Maywood Police Department.

Authorities immediately began an investigation into the suspect. Members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit conducted an interview of the victim, who reportedly provided investigators with “specific details” about what happened.

Prosecutors have revealed that the suspect and the girl were acquaintances who knew each other. However, law enforcement has yet to provide any specific details about their alleged relationship.

The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple sex crimes, including aggravated sexual assault and child endangerment.

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. He is currently being held at the jail on a $150,000 bail amount.

While the charges are still pending, the suspect will not be allowed to have any contact with the victim. He was also ordered to surrender his passport.
