Oradell New Jersey Rape ChargesAn Oradell NJ high school student was arrested after allegedly raping a New York college student.

According to authorities, the sexual assault occurred sometime after an All American Rejects concert at Manhattan College. The 19-year-old victim invited the suspect back to her dorm room, where the rape allegedly transpired.

The victim alleged that the suspect forcibly raped her after she told him to stop. A criminal complaint stated that the victim used the word “no” several times, but the suspect ignored her

NYPD detectives said that neither party was intoxicated when the sexual assault allegedly occurred.

Media outlets reported that the suspect is an 18-year-old student at Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. The student, a soccer player at the high school, lives in Wyckoff, NJ.

The suspect was accompanied by his attorney when he went to the Bronx and surrendered to detectives with the NYPD Bronx Special Victims Unit.

The suspect was arrested and charged with four counts of sexual assault, including rape, sexual misconduct, and sex abuse.

If the suspect is eventually convicted on the sex crime charges, he would be subject to significant criminal penalties under the New York Criminal Code. If the sexual offense had occurred in New Jersey, the suspect still would have faced severe penalties. It’s possible that the suspect would have been charged with sexual assault or criminal sexual contact.

After being arrested, the suspect was arraigned. Sometime later, the suspect secured his release from police custody. He will be required to appear in a New York court in June to address the charges against him.
