Child Assault Suspect in Lodi NJLodi NJ police recently arrested a man accused of striking his infant niece during a violent encounter with the girl’s mother.

According to authorities, the 26-year-old Lodi New Jersey man got involved in a domestic dispute with his sister at a home located on Pasadena Avenue in Lodi, NJ. At some point the verbal altercation turned physical and the suspect allegedly hit the one-year-old child.

Officials said that the violent physical contact occurred while the suspect’s sister held the infant child in her arms.

The Lodi Police Department received a call about the incident and dispatched officers to the scene. When police showed up at the home, they allegedly saw the suspect in the process of driving away in a car. Police pulled over the suspect’s vehicle and prevented him from driving off.

After being stopped by police, the suspect allegedly exited the vehicle and began to flee the scene on foot. The police officers chased him down and arrested him.

The suspect was subsequently charged with several crimes, including aggravated assault, child cruelty, and eluding. The suspect was also charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI).

After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was transported to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. He was being held at the correctional facility on a $10,000 bail amount.
