River Edge New Jersey Murder ChargesA New York woman reportedly admitted to prosecutors that she killed her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend at a residence in River Edge, NJ.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the 42-year-old suspect traveled to the home of her ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend in October, 2012. The couple had broken up after a 10-year-long relationship.

When the suspect went to the residence on Millbrook Road in River Edge, NJ she allegedly planned to murder her ex-boyfriend. However, it is believed that the suspect did not plan to kill her ex’s new girlfriend.

The suspect was allegedly armed with a .22-caliber rifle when she walked into the victims’ bedroom. She then allegedly fired six rounds into her 52-year-old ex-boyfriend.

At some point, the suspect got into a physical struggle with the 42-year-old female victim and allegedly used a knife to fatally stab her.

The suspect then exited the house and fled the scene. Sometime later, she went to the Hudson River and reportedly tossed the weapons used in the killings. Police were reportedly able to find the rifle during a subsequent search of the river.

The suspect was located in Connecticut not long after the killings and placed under arrest. She was charged with several crimes related to the violent home invasion, including two counts of murder, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and stalking.

The suspect recently made an appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack NJ and pleaded guilty to the most serious criminal charges. According to prosecutors, the suspect confessed to committing both murders.

The suspect will return to Bergen County Superior Court in September for sentencing. Meanwhile, the suspect is currently being held at the Bergen County Correctional Facility on a massive $3 million bail amount.
