Police have arrested a doctor who allegedly committed sexual assaults against employees and at least one patient at a medical practice in Bergenfield, NJ.
Law enforcement first learned about the sex crime allegations when an employee came forward and said that the suspect touched her breast and bit her on the cheek while she worked with him at the business.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Bergenfield Police Department subsequently investigated the allegations.
During the investigation, authorities came across three more individuals who claimed to be victims of the suspect’s sexual offenses at the medical practice. Among the victims are current employees, former employees, and one patient.
The suspect, a doctor specializing in general practice and internal medicine, was placed under arrest at the conclusion of the investigation.
The suspect has been charged with criminal sexual contact, as well as simple assault and harassment.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was moved to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was being held at the jail on a $20,000 bail amount.
If and when the suspect posts bail, he will not be able to have any contact with the victims in the case. Additionally, he will be required to surrender his passport to authorities.
