Englewood NJ police recently arrested a homeless man who allegedly sexual assaulted a woman.
The Englewood Police Department received a 911 call around 3:20 a.m. The caller informed police that she had been the victim of an assault.
When police officers arrived at the scene of the alleged assault, they found the victim. Police officers saw that the victim had suffered an “obvious injury.”
Emergency responders took the victim to Englewood Hospital, where doctors treated her for various physical injuries.
The victim spoke with doctors at the hospital and reportedly revealed that she was also the victim of a sexual assault. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit then sent detectives to the hospital so that they could investigate the sexual assault allegations.
The detectives discussed the incident with the victim. During their conversation, the victim allegedly identified the 27-year-old suspect as the individual who assaulted her. It is believed that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The suspect was subsequently placed under arrest and charged with aggravated sexual assault. Additionally, the suspect faces charges for aggravated assault.
After being arrested and charged, the suspect was moved to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. Authorities were holding the suspect at the correctional facility in lieu of a $101,000 bail amount.
