North Arlington Man Charged with DWIA North Arlington New Jersey man was allegedly high and/or drunk when he drove through Guttenberg NJ and then crashed his car in Edgewater, NJ.

The incident happened during the early morning hours. According to law enforcement, the 25-year-old suspect was speeding while he drove a black Cadillac CTS north on Bergenline Avenue in Guttenberg, New Jersey.

A taxi driver saw the suspect driving at an excessive speed when he passed 70th Street. The cab driver notified a nearby patrol officer, who then followed the suspect as he allegedly drove 80 mph and went through several stop signs.

The suspect eventually made his way onto River Road in Edgewater, New Jersey. At that point, he reportedly lost control of his vehicle and rolled the car onto the roadway.

The suspect was able to avoid serious injuries in the car accident. His 22-year-old passenger was also able to get out of the car safely and without serious injury. Both vehicle occupants were transported to Hackensack Medical Center, where they got medical treatment for minor injuries.

The suspect was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI). He reportedly told police that he smoked marijuana before getting behind the wheel of the vehicle.

Additionally, the suspect was cited for several traffic offenses, including reckless driving, careless driving, and driving with a suspended license.
