Mahwah NJ Shoplifting AttorneysMahwah NJ police recently arrested a NY man accused of shoplifting items from a local gas station.

According to authorities, the 21-year-old suspect walked into the Gulf gas station located on Route 17 in Mahwah and stole several small items. Store employees later told Mahwah police that the suspect snuck the items into his pockets.

Additionally, the suspect reportedly attempted to buy a bottle of water with a $100 bill. When the store clerk began to question the suspect about the items in his pockets, the suspect allegedly pushed the clerk and struck him.

Mahwah NJ police were called to the scene. A short time after arriving at the store, police officers found the suspect and detained him.

Police officers later conducted a search of the suspect and reportedly discovered 124 wax folds of heroin. Police also allegedly found a hypodermic needle on the suspect.

The suspect has been charged with several crimes, including robbery, shoplifting, theft of movable property, possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was moved to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. He was being held at the correctional facility on a $120,000 bail amount.
