Police recently busted three men accused of kidnapping and torturing a Mahwah New Jersey man.
According to officials, the suspects abducted the 22-year-old victim and then proceeded to brutally beat him.
Authorities believe that the suspects nabbed the victim shortly after they learned that he was planning to burglarize the Lyndhurst NJ apartment of one of the men. When the main suspect discovered the burglary plan, he allegedly used duct tape to restrain the victim and tie his hands and feet together. The suspect also allegedly used electrical cord to bind the victim to a chair.
While the victim was unable to move his hands or his feet, the suspects reportedly used a razor to shave his eyebrows. The suspects also allegedly used a knife to cut off the victim’s hair. Beyond that, the suspects are also accused of burning the victim’s tongue with a lit cigarette.
After allegedly committing the violent acts, one of the suspects reportedly pointed a gun at the victim and ordered him to get into a car.
The suspects reportedly drove the victim for a while and also chased after another person who may have been involved in the burglary scheme. Wayne New Jersey police officers eventually noticed the car parked on the side of Route 23. When police officers looked inside the vehicle, they saw the victim suffering from serious injuries.
The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. His many injuries included a swollen jaw, cuts above his eyes, and burns on his tongue. He received much-needed medical treatment from doctors and was later listed in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the three suspects were arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including kidnapping, criminal restraint, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats. Moreover, two of the suspects were charged with various weapons offenses.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the three suspects were taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. The suspects are being held at the correctional facility on separate bail amounts that range from $400,000 to $500,000.
