Murder-Suicide at Edgewater NJ Apartment BuildingPolice are looking into what is believed to be a shocking murder-suicide that involves a family in Edgewater, New Jersey.

The nightmarish incident occurred at the Windsor at Mariners Towers, a high-rise luxury apartment building located along the Hudson River bank in Edgewater, NJ.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the tragic homicides were committed during the holidays. The bodies of a married couple, and their eight-year-old daughter, were discovered on Christmas night.

When Edgewater police found the victims’ bodies, they noticed that a number of Christmas presents had been neatly wrapped and placed underneath a Christmas tree inside the residence.

The adult victims, a 53-year-old male and his 49-year-old wife, were first found by Edgewater police officers, who then found the body of the couple’s young daughter. The Edgewater Police Department had sent officers to the apartment building after getting a call from worried relatives of the couple.

Investigators believe that the husband first shot his wife and daughter in the backs of their heads, then put the handgun to his chin and shot himself.

Edgewater police and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office are currently investigating the homicides. However, investigators have not yet determined what the suspect’s motive for the killings may have been.
