Wyckoff NJ police recently arrested two individuals who were subsequently charged with drug possession and shoplifting after they allegedly got locked out of their vehicle.
According to Wyckoff authorities, the Wyckoff Police Department received a call around 10:30 p.m. from a CVS worker. The employee told police that two people were walking around inside the store and acting suspiciously.
When Wyckoff police showed up at the CVS store, which is located on Franklin Avenue in Wyckoff NJ, they found the suspects trying to use a coat hanger to access a car parked in the CVS parking lot. The suspects had apparently locked their keys inside the vehicle.
Police officers questioned the suspects, who allegedly offered conflicting stories about what had transpired.
When police later searched the suspects, one of them allegedly had a cocaine pipe with a substance that appeared to be cocaine residue. She was also allegedly in possession of a used syringe, in addition to other paraphernalia commonly associated with heroin.
The 27-year-old female, who is from Garfield, NJ and who allegedly possessed the cocaine pipe, was placed under arrest and charged with multiple drug offenses, including cocaine possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile, the other suspect, a 27-year-old man from Prospect Park NJ, was arrested and charged with shoplifting because he was allegedly caught with a laser pointer that had been reported stolen from the CVS.
Additionally, law enforcement said that the suspects had outstanding arrest warrants from other municipalities in Bergen County, New Jersey.
