East Rutherford Child Pornography LawyersPolice recently arrested an East Rutherford man who was allegedly in possession of child pornography on his personal home computer.

According to Bergen County law enforcement, the suspect was caught using the Internet to download videos and images of juveniles engaging in sexual acts.

Police initiated an investigation after learning about the allegations against the suspect. Once investigators obtained enough evidence, they obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s home in East Rutherford, NJ. The search reportedly led to the discovery of more than 100 computer files that contained illicit images of minors.

The suspect, a 26-year-old male from East Rutherford NJ, was subsequently arrested. He has been charged with multiple sex offenses, including possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child.

If the suspect is ultimately convicted of child endangerment, he faces severe criminal penalties. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4, anyone who knowingly receives a photo or video depicting a child engaged in a prohibited sexual act can be charged with a second degree felony. A conviction on second degree endangering the welfare of a child charges could lead to a sentence of 5-10 years in NJ State Prison.

After being placed under arrest and charged, the suspect secured his release from police custody on his own recognizance. He will be required to appear in Bergen County Superior Court, located in Hackensack, so that he can address the criminal charges against him.
