Police in Elmwood Park New Jersey recently arrested two men who allegedly committed an armed robbery at a local home.
The robbery is said to have occurred early in the morning. According to authorities, three suspects unlawfully entered an apartment located on Donor Avenue in Elmwood Park, NJ.
Once inside the apartment, the suspects allegedly confronted the occupants and threatened to kill them.
The suspects reportedly held the victims at gunpoint and ordered them to get on the floor. This scary incident went on for approximately 40 minutes, with the suspects allegedly raiding the residence and stealing the victims’ personal belongings, which included flat screen televisions, iPads, iPhones, and purses.
Thankfully, none of the victims sustained any injuries during the theft incident.
After the suspects left the apartment, the victims dialed 911 and alerted the Elmwood Park Police Department.
Elmwood Park police officers went to the apartment and saw two of the suspects sitting in a vehicle. Before the suspects could drive off, Elmwood Park NJ police officers arrested them.
When Elmwood Park NJ officers searched the suspects’ car, they allegedly found the stolen possessions.
Later in the day, police officers searched the area around the apartment building and found a rifle hidden in the bushes.
The two suspects who were arrested, a 20-year-old Paterson man and a 32-year-old Paterson man, face multiple criminal charges, including robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy.
Elmwood Park NJ police officers are still searching for the third suspect. He is described as a black man who stands roughly 5-feet-6-inches tall. The third suspect reportedly wore all-black clothing during the robbery.
