Fort Lee NJ Sex Crime ChargesAn Englewood Cliffs NJ man allegedly sexually assaulted a client at his Fort Lee acupuncture office.

The suspect, a 70-year-old resident of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, operates Fort Lee Acupuncture and Physical Therapy, an acupuncture practice in Fort Lee NJ that is reportedly unlicensed. The suspect’s practice is located on Whiteman Road in Fort Lee.

According to authorities, the suspect molested a female client who was undergoing an acupuncture procedure at his office. The victim contacted the Fort Lee Police Department and said that the suspect “inappropriately touched her” during the procedure.

The Fort Lee Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit then started a joint investigation into the suspect. Investigators eventually determined that enough evidence existed to arrest the suspect.

The suspect faces serious criminal charges for criminal sexual contact. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:14-3, anyone who commits an act of sexual contact with a victim while using physical force or coercion can be charged with a fourth degree crime. A conviction for fourth degree criminal sexual contact could lead to a sentence of 3-5 years in New Jersey State Prison.

After being arrested and processed, the suspect was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. The suspect was being held at the correctional facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
