Cliffside Park Drug ChargesPolice recently located a man who rented a Bronx NY home being used as a drug lab and placed him under arrest in Cliffside Park, NJ.

The single-family residence was located on West 234th Street in the Bronx, New York. According to officials, the NY Fire Department had to send firefighters to the home after getting a report of the odor of gas coming from the house. Firefighters knocked on the door to the home and were met by the suspect, who allegedly ran off and fled the scene.

Just a few moments after the suspect ran away, the home exploded. The explosion caused debris to fly out of the house and injured numerous people standing outside.

Additionally, the explosion resulted in one fatality: a New York Fire Department battalion chief who was struck by debris.

The suspect, a 32-year-old male, was reportedly renting the house. At this time, it is unclear if he has been directly connected to the alleged drug lab.

The suspect was apprehended by US Marshals and NYPD detectives at a house in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. He is likely to be charged with numerous crimes in the days ahead, including distribution of marijuana. The suspect might also be subject to criminal charges for manslaughter in connection with the fatal explosion.
