Weapons Offense Charges in East Rutherford NJPolice in East Rutherford New Jersey police arrested a man who allegedly attempted to sell guns and ammunition to an undercover officer.

The suspect, a 77-year-old man from Bayonne, New Jersey, allegedly arranged a meeting with an undercover cop. At the meeting, the suspect reporting tried to sell firearms and bullets to the officer.

East Rutherford police officers subsequently arrested the suspect and seized three handguns. Police officers also reportedly seized ammunition.

A search of the suspect’s Bayonne NJ home later reportedly turned up a loaded handgun and around $100K in cash, which police seized.

The suspect faces numerous criminal charges, including multiple counts of illegal distribution of a firearm without a proper NJ registration or license.

Bergen County detectives are currently investigating the suspect, so it is possible that there could be more criminal charges in the coming weeks.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect secured his release from police custody. He has a summons to appear in Bergen County Superior Court.
