Fair Lawn NJ Manslaughter SuspectThe aggravated assault charges filed against a man from Fair Lawn NJ have been upgraded to manslaughter charges after an alleged assault victim died from his injuries.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect brutally assaulted the victim at a home located on Smith Avenue in Fair Lawn, NJ. The victim was reportedly visiting the suspect’s girlfriend at the house where she lived.

The suspect reportedly became agitated and savagely attacked the victim, resulting in severe injuries.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where he underwent emergency surgery. However, the victim, who resided in North Haledon, later died due to his injuries. The victim was 64 years old at the time of his death.

The Fair Lawn Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit conducted an investigation and determined that the 59-year-old suspect should be placed under arrest. The suspect, who resides in Fair Lawn, was initially charged with aggravated assault. However, following the victim’s death, the suspect was charged with manslaughter.

If the suspect is convicted of manslaughter, he faces a potential sentence of 5-10 years in NJ State Prison.
