Wood-Ridge NJ Heroin Possession SuspectsTwo individuals from Wood-Ridge NJ were allegedly caught with a large quantity of heroin in their motor vehicle while driving in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

According to officials, Hasbrouck Heights police officers noticed something suspicious in a vehicle parked at the Rite Aid Pharmacy parking lot at 151 Boulevard. A subsequent search of the suspects’ car by police allegedly turned up nearly nine pounds of heroin.

Hasbrouck Heights cops later searched the suspects’ shared residence in Wood-Ridge and allegedly found another 11 pounds of heroin.

According to authorities, the total amount of illegal drugs seized by police was roughly 20 pounds. The drugs are said to have a street value of around $540,000.

The male suspect is 21 years old and the female suspect is 22 years old. They reportedly live together in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey.

Both suspects face very serious criminal charges for distribution of heroin and possession of heroin. They also face charges for distribution of heroin near school property, which could lead to enhanced penalties in the event of a conviction.

After being arrested and processed, the suspects were taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey. The suspects were being held at the correctional facility on separate bail amounts of $250,000.
