Ridgefield NJ Murder Defense AttorneysAuthorities recently indicated that a man whose body was discovered in Ridgefield New Jersey was a victim of homicide.

Law enforcement has revealed minimal information about the homicide at this time because the victim’s family is yet to be notified about the death. It is believed that a local resident may have found the victim’s body near the Ridgefield Post Office located on Broad Avenue in Ridgefield, NJ. That person may have dialed 911 to alert the Ridgefield Police Department to the situation.

Ridgefield Police Department detectives and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office detectives are working together on the investigation into the killing. Investigators already stated that the victim was killed and declared him a homicide victim.

The exact manner of the victim’s death and the circumstances of his death have not yet been revealed to the media, but it is believed that the victim may have died as a result of a violent assault. The victim was 27 years of age when he died and reportedly resided in Palisades Park, NJ.

If and when law enforcement is able to identify and capture the person responsible for the homicide, that individual would likely face first degree murder charges. As set forth by N.J.S.A. 2C:11-3, murder is the most serious crime in the NJ Criminal Code and carries severe penalties. A conviction for first degree murder could result in the culprit being sentenced to life imprisonment in NJ State Prison, with a minimum mandatory sentence of 30 years behind bars.
