Cliffside Park NJ Fraud Crime SuspectsA husband and wife who live in Cliffside Park NJ were recently indicted by a state grand jury on very serious criminal charges of insurance fraud.

The suspects are a 53-year-old Cliffside Park NJ man and his 28-year-old wife. According to law enforcement, the suspects lied on official insurance forms about their car, a 2014 Toyota Camry, being stolen. The suspects allegedly lied so that they could secure a $20,000 payout from Progressive Insurance, their vehicle insurance provider. The suspects reportedly indicated on insurance forms that their Toyota was stolen from the parking lot of a store in Edgewater, NJ.

Additionally, the suspects also allegedly made false statements in support of their fraudulent auto insurance claim. Bergen County prosecutors said that the suspects even went used their young son to make false statements to officials from Progressive Insurance.

Law enforcement conducted an investigation into the suspects and eventually determined that there was enough evidence to arrest them and bring criminal charges. The suspects were charged with several fraud crimes, including insurance fraud, theft by deception, false swearing, and conspiracy.

Now the suspects are likely headed to trial after a New Jersey state grand jury indicted them on the criminal charges.
