A Bergen County NJ man and a Passaic County NJ man were recently captured and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Paterson gas station attendant.
The suspects reportedly shot and killed the victim around 6:00 p.m. at the First Avenue Gas station on First Avenue near Route 20 in Paterson, New Jersey. According to law enforcement officials, the suspects walked into the gas station and used a firearm to fire at least gunshot at the victim. It is believed that the shooting occurred during a robbery attempt.
The victim was a 57-year-old Fair Lawn man who began working at the Paterson gas station eight months ago. When Paterson NJ police officers got to the scene, they found the victim lying on the ground and suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Emergency medical responders transported the victim to nearby St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, where doctors attempted to save him. Tragically, the victim died not long after arriving at the Paterson NJ hospital.
The Paterson Police Department and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted a joint investigation into the homicide and quickly identified the two suspects. Police later located the shooting suspects and placed them under arrest without incident.
The homicide suspects are from Garfield and Paterson, respectively. They both face numerous criminal charges, including first degree murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
