Palisades Park NJ Traffic ChargesPolice in Palisades Park recently arrested a Fort Lee NJ man accused of striking a pedestrian and then leaving the scene of the accident.

The motor vehicle accident occurred just after 7:30 p.m. The Newark Police Department sent police officers to the intersection of East Brinkerhoff Avenue and 6th Street after getting a call about an injured pedestrian.

When Newark police officers got the scene of the motor vehicle accident, they came across the female victim. According to law enforcement, the victim required medical treatment at Hackensack University Medical Center. Doctors at the Hackensack NJ hospital treated the victim for her accident-related injuries and stabilized her condition.

Detectives with both the Palisades Park Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office investigated the auto accident and found pieces of a black 2016 Kia Optima that broke off during the crash.

Investigators later identified the alleged driver of the car as a 28-year-old resident of Fort Lee, New Jersey. He was eventually located and arrested for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury.

Palisades Park police also cited the suspect for multiple traffic violations.

After being arrested and charged, the suspect was released with a pending court date.
