Port Authority NJ police officers arrested a Bronx NY man who allegedly possessed a handgun while driving through Fort Lee, New Jersey.
The suspect is a 34-year-old man from Bronx, New York. According to law enforcement, the suspect was driving in Fort Lee NJ while in possession of a loaded gun and hollow-point bullets.
Port Authority NJ police officers pulled over the suspect’s vehicle on I-95 north in Fort Lee because the car reportedly had illegally tinted windows.
The officers spoke to the driver, who allegedly could not give them registration for the motor vehicle.
While running a check on the suspect, police officers reportedly learned that he was wanted by police on an active arrest warrant in South Brunswick, NJ.
When Port Authority NJ cops later searched the suspect’s car, they allegedly discovered a loaded 9mm pistol. The gun was reportedly loaded with hollow-point bullets and had been reported stolen in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The suspect was placed under arrest and charged with several crimes, including weapons offenses and receiving stolen property. The suspect was also issued a citation for a traffic offense.
