Hackensack police recently arrested two individuals – a brother and a sister – in connection with a violent incident that reportedly involved a shooting and a car accident.
The suspects are a 20-year-old man from Hackensack NJ and a 21-year-old woman from Hackensack, New Jersey. According to authorities, it was around 8:00 a.m. when the male suspect started to act “irrationally” during a domestic altercation at a home on Holt Street in Hackensack, NJ.
At some point, the suspect reportedly got behind the wheel of a black Honda CR-V and drove off. (According to Hackensack authorities, the SUV was reported stolen.)
While fleeing the neighborhood, the suspect reportedly slammed the SUV into a vehicle parked along Washington Avenue and another vehicle parked along Lafayette Street.
The Hackensack Police Department dispatched officers to the Holt Street residence after getting 911 calls about gunshots being fired. The suspect allegedly used a gun to fire a gunshot into the air before the drove away.
Not long after the suspect fled, his sister reportedly followed him in a different motor vehicle. After he allegedly crashed his SUV, she reportedly drove him from the scene of the second accident to the Hackensack house.
Hackensack NJ cops met the suspect at the residence allegedly engaged in a standoff that eventually ended with the suspect being placed under arrest.
The male suspect will probably be charged with multiple crimes for aggravated assault and weapons offenses, as well as traffic offenses in connection with the auto accidents.
The suspect’s sister has also been criminally charged with obstruction of the administration of justice for her alleged role in the incident.
