A Lyndhurst man was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly sharing child pornography on the internet.
The suspect is a 51-year-old resident of Lyndhurst. He is reportedly employed as a firefighter somewhere in Bergen County, New Jersey. According to Bergen County authorities, the suspect committed sex crimes when he viewed computer files with images of children engaging in illicit sexual acts. Moreover, the suspect allegedly distributed the illicit images as well.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit opened an investigation after getting information that the suspect may have been sharing child pornography online. Bergen County NJ detectives eventually got a search warrant to search the suspect’s home in Lyndhurst, New Jersey.
The suspect was later arrested and charged with several sex crimes, including child endangerment for possessing child pornography and child endangerment for distributing child pornography.
After being placed under arrest and processed, the suspect was taken to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, New Jersey.
